Aaron Maass
Managing Director/CEO
Former head of e-commerce at Comcast and one of the early pioneers of tag-based web analytics, Aaron Maass manages MaassMedia, a leading digital analytics consulting firm based in Philadelphia. His clients include NASDAQ, Publisher’s Clearing House, Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton, Gore-Tex, Southwire, Lenovo and Comcast. Aaron co-founded and sold a website traffic tracking and reporting software company called SiteGauge to KKR in 2000, and has led web analytics initiatives in senior Internet marketing roles at KPMG, EF Language, Fidelity and DuPont.
He currently chairs the Digital Analytics Association (DAA) Awards for Excellence, teaches courses on digital analytics and is a frequent speaker on analytics topics. He holds a B.A. from Cornell University and has been recognized for his achievements by the DAA, Interactive Media Council and Web Marketing Association.
Jo Stapleton
Managing Director/COO
Jo oversees day-to-day operations for the firm, as well as service delivery and strategic insights on behalf of MaassMedia clients, including Lenovo and Comcast.
A 20-year veteran of the marketing services industry Jo has developed a reputation as a straight-shooting strategic thinker, innovator, and service delivery expert with a known ability to lead clients across the gaps between business, marketing and technology.
Prior to joining MaassMedia, Jo served as Managing Director in the Global Strategic Communications unit of FTI Consulting where he helped oversee the creation and management of the global consulting firm’s first digital marketing practice and led multi-disciplinary teams for large-scale strategic initiatives for Comcast, Sotheby’s and Readers Digest.
Jo was a founding partner of Kinesis Marketing, a boutique digital marketing services firm based in Morristown, NJ and Philadelphia where he spearheaded programs for Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation, Management Recruiters International and South Korea Telecom for nearly a decade.
A new media trailblazer, Jo oversaw the creation of one of the ad industry’s first Interactive Marketing units in 1997 where he developed some of the earliest successful digital marketing efforts for such clients as Ricola USA, McGraw-Hill, Verizon, the New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Authority and Photobition Group PLC.
Jo got his start as an advertising copywriter and creative director, winning several international awards for his creative work on behalf of clients like The Meadowlands Racetrack, Rutgers University Athletics, University Hospital, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, and PSE&G.
He is a graduate of The University of Rhode Island and a member of the American Marketing Association and the Digital Analytics Association.
Melissa Shusterman
Strategic Engagement Director
Melissa brings more than a decade of marketing and statistical analytics expertise to MaassMedia. Formerly head of analytics at Pharma marketing consultancy Cadient Group, Melissa oversaw measurement and analysis for websites and digital campaigns for clients like Pfizer, Alcon and Astra Zeneca. Melissa optimized media performance, website customer engagement, and conversion through goal driven analytics and SEO. She also managed the implementation of analytics software like Adobe SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics and Unica for traditional, mobile and flash sites.
As Director of E-Commerce and Marketing for Public Savings Bank, Melissa supervised the marketing team and drove the design, development and performance measurement for publicbankcard.com and publicsavings.com. She also oversaw the development and measurement of customer email, SEO and social media, as well as traditional media campaigns. And it was through her analysis and integration of user experience, call center and sales data, that she was able to help triple product sales of former telecom giant MCI’s early VoIP service.
A former staffer for Congressman Russ Feingold, Melissa is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and holds an MBA in marketing and statistics from the University of Maryland.
